Principal's Weekly Update

Good afternoon and Happy Friday. I greatly appreciate the very nice comments and emails following the School Board’s decision this past Monday evening.  I am very honored to be able to serve as principal of LMS in the coming year.  Thank you. As a personal aside, if you have entered our offices this week and observed a sign with my picture on it posted on various secretaries’ desks, I am NOT really such a big deal around here.  That has been an ongoing, inside joke (re: the movie “Anchorman”) since the beginning of the school year.  Our office staff has done an admirable job of keeping me in check. Good afternoon and Happy Friday. It has been “a week” and I am very, very glad for the upcoming weekend.  I hope holding students for a few minutes in 8 th period classes yesterday didn’t cause stress for any of them.  We had some weather rolling in and wanted to see what transpired.  As it happened, it passed quickly.  Buses were dismissed only about a minute or two behind schedule. The calendar items below run through the week of Spring Break.  I was hoping to extend the calendar through the month of April on this update, but time is running short and I am trying to concentrate on getting this out before the day ends.  I will do my best to update the calendar items on the next update. 2/14/14 Good morning and Happy Valentine’s Day. Remember the massive piles of hand sanitizer and facial tissues you so generously contributed on Community Night back in August?  By the end of the evening, these items had completely filled our smaller conference room and had overflowed into our office area.  I bring this up because Nancy Edwards (Principal Secretary and Principal Brain) informed me yesterday that we are about out of tissues.  If you would be so kind as to send in a spare box if you can with your child, it would be greatly appreciated.  These can be dropped of at the Welcome Center office.  With all the illness going around this year, we have obviously put these to good use.
