July 29, 2016

Good afternoon.  I hope your week has gone well. Please be aware that a few schedule changes have been made for August 8, 9, and 10.  These changes involve packet pickup times and times when our office will be closed for district- and building-level meetings.  I have highlighted these changes in RED in the Calendar Items section below.   CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU’s Welcome to Stacie Grant, who will be serving in the role of Counselor Secretary.  Stacie has a degree in Business Administration from Lindenwood University and eleven years experience in school and non-profit administrative support. A huge thank you to Milan Rakic, JB Tate, Steve Bell and Jimmy Gender for getting the building in fantastic shape.  This is a challenging task each summer and they have done a wonderful job.   CALENDAR ITEMS We are now on our regular five-day work week schedule.  Our office is open 7:45 am to 3:15 pm Monday through Friday. 8/2/16 Election in LMS Library 8/8/16

LMS Grade 8 Immunization Follow Up

Good afternoon (again) 8th grade LMS parents.   In regard to my previous reminder regarding 8th grade immunizations, I have just been informed that any records faxed to our Nurse Fax Line of (314) 983-5965 may not be accessible.   If you previously faxed this information to the number above, or asked your child’s doctor to do so, I would ask that this information be re-sent to our school’s LMS Fax Line of (314) 997-8736. Any new faxes sent to the Nurse Fax Line of (314) 983-5965 from this point on will be automatically forwarded to our District Nursing Coordinator Ann Body. My apologies, Greg Gregory Baber, Principal Ladue Middle School

LMS Grade 8 Immunization Reminder

Good afternoon 8th grade LMS parents.   If you have already provided updated immunization information to us for the coming school year, please disregard the following.   Immunization information/Grade 8 As a result of immunization changes required by the State of Missouri, students entering 8th grade for the 2016-2017 school year will now be required to have a meningitis immunization and a Tdap immunization prior to beginning school.  Your child may have already had both of these immunizations.  Please check with your child’s pediatrician to see if these have been completed and, if not, get an appointment scheduled. Updated records from your pediatrician that reflect that your child has received these immunizations may be faxed to (314) 997-8736, mailed to the LMS School Nurse at 9701 Conway Road; St Louis, MO; 63124-1646, or dropped off in our office from 8 am to 3 pm.  Information regarding the immunization requirements for 8th grade can be found at: http://health.mo.g

LMS Student Schedules 2016-17

Good afternoon. I wanted to take a moment to emphasize a portion of my previous message regarding student schedules for 2016-17.  This has also been communicated to our grade level administrators, counselors, and scheduler. We began the scheduling process in the spring of 2016.  Since that time, work has been invested in making the best Team placements based upon parent and staff input and information.  Teams compositions will be balanced as much as possible. We have put in extensive time to meet top choices for Elective course requests as they were received in our office.  Please keep in mind that we do this while working with class size requirements. By the time student packets are ready for pick up on August 8 and 9, student schedules will be finalized.  I want to avoid two possible scenarios that have arisen in the past as we approach the first day of school: “I have changed my mind about my Elective choice(s).” “I want to be with my friend(s) in _________ class

6th Grade Orientation

Good morning. I failed to mention in my previous message that all 6th grade students will be involved in an orientation with their team teachers on the first day of school. The orientation scheduled for Monday, August 15, is only for those 7th and 8th grade students who are transferring into the school district. Have a great day. Greg Gregory Baber  B.S.Ed., M.Ed., Ed.S. Principal, Ladue Middle School

LMS Morning/Afternoon Traffic

Good morning. The following is a reminder to some, and new information for others, regarding our morning and afternoon traffic patterns and drop off/pick up procedures.   Our school day for 2016-2017 will be 8:10 am to 3:10 pm.   If you plan to transport your child to school by car in the morning: Please be aware that students cannot enter our building until 7:15 am, when I have someone on duty to monitor the front doors and lobby. Students may be dropped off at the front of the building prior to buses arrive (they typically begin appearing around 7:45 am).  Please follow the designated traffic flow arrows as you enter our campus from either Conway or Clayton roads.   I am typically at location 1, with staff members at locations 2 and 3 to help with traffic flow and supervision.   After buses begin arriving, we change car traffic to the rear of the building.  The person at location 2 will notify drivers. Please proceed down the right-hand drive, then circle bac
