Veterans Day recognition
We will continue to recognize current and past Veterans at LMS on November 11.  Tricia Wideman, LMS teacher, has coordinated the development of a yearly slide show compiled from information provided by students and faculty.  Each slide recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by a “Favorite Veteran” and the show is displayed during all three lunch shifts.
I am attaching a form to the Blackboard Connect parent update that can be completed, scanned and emailed to Tricia (or you can just email the information) at twideman@ladueschools.net

Important Ski Trip Information
If you are planning on your child being part of our ski group that goes skiing/snowboarding on five Fridays, you must sign up within the next week.  Our LMS ski turn-in days will begin Tuesday, November 1.  Follow the instructions on the green Hidden Valley Ski Form that your child received from his/her science teacher.  If your child lost the form, there are extras in the LMS front office.
If you would like your child to go skiing but you would need financial assistance, you should see or email your child's grade level counselor no later than next Wed. Nov. 2.  This option would allow your child to attend on the Jan 6 trip ONLY.
Turn-in mornings (before school begins, beginning at 7:15 am) are as follows:
  • 8th Grade - Tuesday, November 1
  • 7th Grade - Wednesday, November 2
  • 6th Grade - Thursday, November 3
  • Anyone - Friday, November 4
  • Last day turn-in Monday, November 5
If you have questions, please email Mark Biernbaum at mbiernbaum@ladueschools.net

HEALTHY THOUGHTS

Candy is meant to be a treat, but even when consumed in moderation some varieties push the wellness envelope.  To have your sweets and stay healthy too, limit candy that’s particularly high in sugar, unhealthy fats and artificial ingredients.
