October 25, 2015
Good afternoon. I hope
the weekend has gone well for you and your families.
As you can probably imagine, many of our students will opt to
wear Halloween costumes to school this Friday.
This is fine, but we ask the following in addition to our regular dress
code expectations:
·
No costumes that include masks or any other items that cover
the face.
·
No costumes that prohibit or impede necessary
classroom/learning activities.
·
No costumes that advertise or encourage the use of
alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances, nor include offensive language.
·
No costumes that include weapons (either look-alike or
toy) or any weapons-related items.
CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS
I failed to include all
students who were members of the 2015 LMS Green Team in my last Update. The following should all be congratulated on
the Green Team receiving recognition by the Missouri Environmental Education
Association with an Outstanding Service Award for their work in implementing
green practices in our school:
Alex Migala, President; Lou
Ritter, Secretary; Ansh Rana, Treasurer; Connie Chen; Daniel Jung; Victoria
Neal; Noah Posey; Wesley Raffelson; and Will Stappenback.
Thank you to the LMS
Parent Association for providing dinner to staff during conferences. It was wonderful on both evenings. Many thanks to parent Ann Parish and her band
of volunteers.

From the Nurse
As we begin to enter
cold and flu season, please recall Ladue guidelines regarding ill students
staying home from school. Please follow
this link for details:
When to Keep Your Child Home
From School
Fever is a symptom of illness and not an actual diagnosis. Fever usually
indicates that the body is battling an infection. A child with a fever greater
than 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit needs to stay home from school until the fever is
gone for at least 24 hours without medication (acetaminophen or ibuprofen).
