COMMUNITY NIGHT

The LMS Parent Association invites all students and families to celebrate the beginning of a new school year on Friday, August 11 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for parents and students together to:

  • Bring your schedule and walk your classes

  • Bring a combination lock for your assigned locker

  • Decorate the inside of your locker  

  • Fill your locker with school supplies

  • Remove some of the first day jitters

  • Turn in any school or Parent Association paperwork

  • Buy school logo clothing  

  • Visit with all of your friends


**Please be aware that teachers will not be in classrooms during Community Night.


Due to the large turnout, which is a GREAT problem to have (smile), and parking limitations, we ask that the following schedule be followed if at all possible:


6th graders 4:00 to 5:00 pm

7th graders 5:00 to 6:00 pm
8th graders 6:00 to 7:00 pm

Refreshments will be provided by the Dad’s Club and served in the LMS cafeteria. All items are being purchased from Sam’s Club and prepared by the Ladue Middle School Dad’s’ Club.  Please be aware that menu items may not meet specific food allergy requirements.  Lists will be available in the cafe with information regarding ingredients to help parents and students make informed choices.  Please also be aware that all food must be consumed in our Cafeteria.


Locations for the Evening:


Locker Combos/Locker Troubleshooting
Please provide locker combinations and report any locker challenges to Ms. Mary LoBosco and Ms. Ann Mohrmann in the library.

Parent Portal On-Line Sign Up/Troubleshooting (LLAB in the Library)
Set up an account for our Infinite Campus Parent Portal if you do not already have one in the Library LLAB with Mr. Steve Graef in the Library.

Schedules
Schedules that were not picked up during "Packet Pick Up" on Monday will be available in the back office of the Welcome Center with Ms. Carol Stephens.

Immunizations and Residency Documentation
Immunization and residency documentation that may affect student attendance at the beginning of school can be handed in to Ms. Carol Stephens in the back office of the Welcome Center.

Forms
Completed forms from packet pickup may be returned to Ms. Stacie Grant in the Lobby.


Donated Items
If parents wish to donate boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer and/or disinfectant wipes, these items may be delivered to room 105.  This room is to the left of the lobby, about halfway to the Library.

Our administrative team is looking forward to visiting with families. It will be an exciting night for all!

Good afternoon.  I hope that your week has gone well. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Thank you and congratulations to Aaron Lehde, Betsy Cytron, Michael Faris, Scott Harris, Katie Solomon and members of the LMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Bands for their truly wonderful performances this past Wednesday evening to a packed house at the LHWHS Performing Arts Center.  It was a truly wonderful way to end the day.  The kids (and teachers) did a fantastic job.   Administrative Professionals Day was this past Wednesday.  I cannot adequately express how valuable our office staff members are to us.  They are: Nancy Edwards, Principal’s Secretary Peggy Breidenbach, Registrar Carol Stephens, Guidance Secretary Danna Anderson, Receptionist Mary LoBosco, Assistant Principals’ Secretary Ann Mohrmann, Library Aide Kelly Shevitz, Clinic Aide Thank you, as well, to the LMSPA which allowed me to take them to lunch on their day. TJs Tidbits Greetings LMS Families, Last week was focused in many ways on Character Education. On Monday, Dr. Jahnke joined us after school during our Faculty Meeting and surprised us with cake to celebrate our State School of Character Recognition. We had our State School of Character Banner presented to us by Character Plus representative, Nicole Diehl, on Tuesday in a lovely ceremony that included district and LMS admin, counselors, Character Ed Committee reps, student leaders and members of the LMSPA. At the end of of the ceremony, student volunteers shared what Character Ed. means to them and what they love most about LMS. They wowed us all with their comments and spoke so eloquently sharing strengths and growth areas. One student summed it up perfectly, saying something along the lines of "We are not perfect, as there is no way we could be, but we certainly work hard and continue to get better and better each day…” Our National School of C
