March 7, 2014
Good
afternoon and Happy Friday.
It is so nice to see
sunshine! It will be nice, hopefully
soon, to take the many coats and boots I have had in my office over the past
several months home. Don’t forget to set
your clocks forward one hour this weekend for Daylight Savings.
We had a very successful I
AM LMS DAY today, with presentations and fun activities mixed into our regular
class schedules. Those students I spoke
with seemed to enjoy it.
I don’t have much new
information for you this time around. If
anything comes up that needs to be communicated, I will do so over the weekend
or early next week.

Social Media
The
following was provided by Dr. Jahnke for your information:
Principals,
While it is
impossible for us to keep up with all of the social media apps, blogs, and
sites that pop up regularly, we do need to stay attuned to what our students
are using to communicate. This is especially true when the app is designed for
bullying. Below is a link to a blog for
parents that outlines new apps that lend themselves to mean behavior. I think
it might be one to monitor now and then, and can be a resource for parents if
you are sending information out to your community. It was sent to me by an
interested and supportive parent. I found it informative.
Thanks, Donna
BOE Work Session
At the Board of Education
Work Session on Monday, March 10, 2014, the Board of Education and district
administrators will review the development status of Ladue Schools new
Strategic Plan. Upon taking the helm as the district’s new superintendent
in July, Dr. Donna Jahnke began work to revitalize the plan that will guide the
district’s energy and resources over the next several years. The
community is invited to attend to learn about the specific initiatives
incorporated in this plan that will begin to be implemented in the 2014-15
school year. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on March 10, 2014, in the
Ladue Middle School cafeteria.
