CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS

Congratulations to LMS Green Team student members Ansh Rana and Lou Ritter.  The Green Team has been recognized by the Missouri Enviornmental Education Association with an Outstanding Service Award for their work in implementing green practices in our school.  Special mention was made regarding the organization of outreach and events, particularly their e-cycling event.  Great job Ansh and Lou!

Congratulations to all students who will be receiving honor roll stickers with their quarter 1 report cards.  Criteria for recognition was a 3.0 or higher grade point average and 4 or more O's (no I's or U's) for citizenship.  Here are 
the results for 1st quarter:
6th grade- 169 out or 336 students
7th grade- 146 out of 332 students
8th grade- 151 out of 311 students

LMSPA/California Kitchen
California Pizza Kitchen Dine-to-Donate Week is Sunday, October 25 through Saturday, October 31.  This will be at three area stores: Creve Coeur, Galleria Mall and West Country Mall; all day, dine in, take out and catering.  You can present the flyer attached to the Blackboard Connect email and 20% of your check will be donated to the LMSPA to help fund social and educational opportunities throughout the school year for all members of our LMS Community.

LMS Book Fair
Ladue Middle school is gearing up for our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair October 19 through 22 in the LMS Library.  Students will be visiting the Book Fair with their communication arts classes during the school day.  The Book Fair will be open during school and for parent teacher conferences on Wednesday and Thursday.  Don't forget you can contribute books to any LMS teacher's classroom library.  If you are out of town or can't make it to our Book Fair, you can also help support our school by shopping online October 16 through October 23.  The online Book Fair allows you to browse an expanded book selection for all ages at: http://tinyurl.com/qzng5po

The Ladue Early Childhood Center will be conducting a book drive for the month of October.  Specific books (see the list below) will be collected to create an inventory for our Parent Educators program.  A collection box will be provided to the Welcome Center on or about October 1.

Parent Conference Sign Ups
Please be aware that the conference time slot of 3:20 – 3:40 pm on Wednesday, October 21 has been opened.  You should notice this when accessing the website.
Just a reminder that:
PT Conferences are Wednesday, October 21, 2015 (3:20-7:40 p.m.) and Thursday, October 22, 2015 (1:20-7:20 p.m.). Your child was given a postcard on Friday, August 28 to take home. Please refer to the post card for instructions on how to sign up.

Lunchtime Lectures
Lunchtime Lecture series, sponsored by the Ladue Middle School Parent Association, have begun.  The next lecture will occur on November 4, presented by Joanne Curran (Learning Consultant and Tutor), who will speak on Homework and Study Strategies.  All Lunchtime Lectures will occur in the LMS Library, beginning at noon for about one hour.  Please be aware that our food allergy protocols prohibit peanut- and/or tree nut-based food items in our building outside of the Cafeteria and Staff Lounge.
