Congratulations to Kelly Arl, LMS Computer Technology teacher, was recently accepted into Google's Certified Innovator program.  Roughly thirty teachers from around the world were chosen for this cohort.  Kelly will be traveling to Toronto in October to participate in the Innovator Academy at Google HQ.

From the Parent Association:  The Fall LMS parent's association fundraisers started today September 9.  Your student should have two stapled items - Cookie Dough brochure and forms, and the Mixed Bags catalogs and ordering information.  The fundraiser continues until September 26.  Paper order from Mixed Bag orders and all Cookie Dough orders will be ready for pickup at parent conferences (October 26 & 27).  Mixed Bags online orders will be shipped directly to purchasers.  Please consider supporting LMSPA.  Questions: Elizabeth Cobin - Cobin@att.net
From the LMS Diversity Cadre
The LMS Diversity Cadre will host the first of the new quarterly Courageous Dialogues for parents on Thursday, September 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the LMS cafeteria. Please join us and members of the St. Louis Mother to Mother group as they discuss the reality of raising a Black son in America.  This adult only event is open to all.  We hope you join us!

The 8th grade parents organizing the end of year party are having a car wash fundraiser on September 24 from 10 - 3 at LMS.

Service Project
One of our LMS alumna is coordinating a Girl Scout Gold Award Take Action Project entitled “Kids Knitting It Forward.”  This project involves learning to knit and then knitting items like baby socks, hats, and scarves for local charities such as Newborns in Need of Eastern Missouri and HavenHouse St. Louis. Students 4th grade and older of any skill level are welcome. Time spent attending meetings and knitting items can be counted towards community service hours.  More information can be obtained by emailing kidsknittingitforward@gmail.com and meeting dates/times can be accessed at http://kidsknittingitforward.blogspot.com/
Early Dismissals
We understand that unanticipated events may result in your child being picked up from school prior to our 3:10 pm dismissal time.  For those planned instances, please call our main office at 993-3900 that morning, email Danna Anderson at danderson@ladueschools.net or send a note to school with your son or daughter.  Please also remember that if you park in our Circle Drive, buses begin arriving and parking there at about 2:45 pm.  We don’t want you to get blocked in.

Parent Teacher Conferences for semester 1 are Wednesday, October 26, 2016 (4:00 - 8:00 p.m.) and Thursday, October 27, 2016 (1:00 - 7:00 p.m.).  To sign up, please visit the following website:

Good afternoon.  I hope that your week has gone well. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Thank you and congratulations to Aaron Lehde, Betsy Cytron, Michael Faris, Scott Harris, Katie Solomon and members of the LMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Bands for their truly wonderful performances this past Wednesday evening to a packed house at the LHWHS Performing Arts Center.  It was a truly wonderful way to end the day.  The kids (and teachers) did a fantastic job.   Administrative Professionals Day was this past Wednesday.  I cannot adequately express how valuable our office staff members are to us.  They are: Nancy Edwards, Principal’s Secretary Peggy Breidenbach, Registrar Carol Stephens, Guidance Secretary Danna Anderson, Receptionist Mary LoBosco, Assistant Principals’ Secretary Ann Mohrmann, Library Aide Kelly Shevitz, Clinic Aide Thank you, as well, to the LMSPA which allowed me to take them to lunch on their day. Good afternoon.  I hope that your week has gone well so far.   All indications point to MAP testing having gone pretty well for the 6th and 7th graders this week.  Although many hands contribute to the success of school-wide, grade level testing, I would like to share special thanks to the work put in by Associate Principal Dr. Tiffany Taylor-Johnson, Counselor Janey Worthington, Technology Coach Karl Kindt, and Teaching Assistant Katie Rahmoeller.  We should wrap up testing for 8th grade next week, with make up exams to follow.   CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Congratulations to the LMS Science Olympiad team.  This past Saturday, they took first place at the state finals in Fulton, MO with a commanding lead over the second place team (Pembroke Hill from Kansas City).  Thirty-two of the top teams from the state were present and Ladue took top five in 20 of the 22 events.  The team will be moving on to the national finals at University of W...

Good afternoon, everyone.   I hope that your week has gone well. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Congratulations to LMS Literacy Coach, Erika Niles.   Erika was recently selected by the LMS Administrators and Dr. Jennifer Allen (Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum/Instruction) to receive an Excellence In Education recognition for 2015-2016.   In addition to her duties as Literacy Coach, Erika also makes a positive impact on our building and district through her work on the LMS Problem Solving Team, as the LMS Representative on the district New Teacher committee, as a member of the LMS Professional Development committee, as a member of the district Curriculum and Instruction committee, as a LMS Representative on the district RTI Planning Committee, and as a Mentor to an LMS student.   Erika will be honored at the October 26 Ladue Board of Education meeting.     CALENDAR ITEMS Monday, 9/21 7 th Grade Trip Thursday, 9/24 Fundraiser ...
