January 23, 2015
Good
afternoon.
I
am very glad the weekend is coming up.
For some reason, four-day weeks around here seem to take forever.
CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS
Congratulations to all LMS students who participated in our
annual Spelling Bee after school this past Tuesday. Special congratulations go out to our 1st
Place finisher, Justin Wayne from the Pioneer Team, and our 2nd
Place finisher, Micheal Wayne from Titan.
Justin will now participate in the
written Regional semi-final Spelling Bee at McKendree University on Saturday,
March 7. Thank you to LMS
Librarian Narcisse Laidlaw for coordinating this yearly event and to LMS
Teachers Lynn Moeckel, Brian Beracha, Janice Davis and Laurie Lambie for
providing assistance.
A huge thank you to the LMS Parent Association Executive Board
and Jennifer Parish for providing a multitude of breakfast treats for our staff
this morning. What a great way to end
the work week!

Area theatres are offering free admission to see SELMA to

show a student ID or report card at any of the following St. Louis locations:

Box Theater on February
9 from 7 - 8:30 pm. The LHWHS Parent's Association will host an
evening with Laura Huff, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist, Director,
Eating Disorders Program, at the St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute.
She will present "Updates on Eating Disorders: What we know
about causes and treatment. How to raise resilient teens who
