LHWHS Sports Information for 8th grade students

ARE YOU AN INCOMING FRESHMAN STUDENT INTERESTED IN ATHLETICS AT LADUE HORTON WATKINS HIGH SCHOOL?
All students interested in participating in sports at LHWHS must have a completed physical and parent permission on file with the Athletic Department.
Physicals must be completed on or after February 1, 2017 and state the student is cleared for sports, to be valid for the 2017-2018 school year.
The forms can be found on the high school website under the Activities/Athletics tab. (http://lhwhs.ladueschools.net/athletics/)
After the required forms are turned into the Athletics Office, fall athletes will need to come by to pick up their participation slip. Participation slips will be ready for pick up Monday, July 24, 2017 in the Athletics Office. This slip is their “ticket” into practice. Athletes will not be permitted to practice without giving the coach this slip.
As a reminder, the $75 activity fee must be paid prior to the first contest.
(Please do not pay this fee before July 1, 2017.)

Good afternoon.  I hope that your week has gone well. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Thank you and congratulations to Aaron Lehde, Betsy Cytron, Michael Faris, Scott Harris, Katie Solomon and members of the LMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Bands for their truly wonderful performances this past Wednesday evening to a packed house at the LHWHS Performing Arts Center.  It was a truly wonderful way to end the day.  The kids (and teachers) did a fantastic job.   Administrative Professionals Day was this past Wednesday.  I cannot adequately express how valuable our office staff members are to us.  They are: Nancy Edwards, Principal’s Secretary Peggy Breidenbach, Registrar Carol Stephens, Guidance Secretary Danna Anderson, Receptionist Mary LoBosco, Assistant Principals’ Secretary Ann Mohrmann, Library Aide Kelly Shevitz, Clinic Aide Thank you, as well, to the LMSPA which allowed me to take them to lunch on their day. TJs Tidbits Greetings LMS Families, Last week was focused in many ways on Character Education. On Monday, Dr. Jahnke joined us after school during our Faculty Meeting and surprised us with cake to celebrate our State School of Character Recognition. We had our State School of Character Banner presented to us by Character Plus representative, Nicole Diehl, on Tuesday in a lovely ceremony that included district and LMS admin, counselors, Character Ed Committee reps, student leaders and members of the LMSPA. At the end of of the ceremony, student volunteers shared what Character Ed. means to them and what they love most about LMS. They wowed us all with their comments and spoke so eloquently sharing strengths and growth areas. One student summed it up perfectly, saying something along the lines of "We are not perfect, as there is no way we could be, but we certainly work hard and continue to get better and better each day…” Our National School of C
