Apogee Parent Meeting Correction

Good afternoon, 

     The following message is for the parents of 6th grade Apogee students.

     As I predicted in my most recent email/posting, I made a mistake on the Upcoming Calendar Events.
     In years past, 6th grade Apogee alternated daily with 6th grade Literature.  This resulted in difficulty meeting with Apogee parents on the evening of Meet The Teacher Night.  In order to address this, Apogee teachers met with parents before that evening’s regular schedule.
     Beginning this year, 6th grade Apogee will occur daily.  As a result, those parents will be able to meet with Apogee teachers during the normal course of Meet The Teacher Night.
     I am sorry if this has caused any confusion.

LMS Offices will be closed 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.
LMS Community Night
4 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 14
Opening Day for Students
8:15 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.
Wednesday, August 21
Apogee Parent Meeting
6 to 6:30 p.m./LMS Library (DELETE THIS – SEE ABOVE)
Meet The Teacher Night
            Parent Meeting at 6:30 p.m./LMS Gym
Parents follow student schedules 6:55 to 8:30 p.m.
8th Grade Sports Parent Meeting
8:30 to 9 p.m./LMS Cafeteria
Tuesday, August 27
After School Activities begin
3:10 to 4:10 p.m.
Wednesday, August 28
School Pictures (information to follow)

Good afternoon.  I hope that your week has gone well. CONGRATULATIONS and THANKS Thank you and congratulations to Aaron Lehde, Betsy Cytron, Michael Faris, Scott Harris, Katie Solomon and members of the LMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Bands for their truly wonderful performances this past Wednesday evening to a packed house at the LHWHS Performing Arts Center.  It was a truly wonderful way to end the day.  The kids (and teachers) did a fantastic job.   Administrative Professionals Day was this past Wednesday.  I cannot adequately express how valuable our office staff members are to us.  They are: Nancy Edwards, Principal’s Secretary Peggy Breidenbach, Registrar Carol Stephens, Guidance Secretary Danna Anderson, Receptionist Mary LoBosco, Assistant Principals’ Secretary Ann Mohrmann, Library Aide Kelly Shevitz, Clinic Aide Thank you, as well, to the LMSPA which allowed me to take them to lunch on their day. TJs Tidbits Greetings LMS Families, Last week was focused in many ways on Character Education. On Monday, Dr. Jahnke joined us after school during our Faculty Meeting and surprised us with cake to celebrate our State School of Character Recognition. We had our State School of Character Banner presented to us by Character Plus representative, Nicole Diehl, on Tuesday in a lovely ceremony that included district and LMS admin, counselors, Character Ed Committee reps, student leaders and members of the LMSPA. At the end of of the ceremony, student volunteers shared what Character Ed. means to them and what they love most about LMS. They wowed us all with their comments and spoke so eloquently sharing strengths and growth areas. One student summed it up perfectly, saying something along the lines of "We are not perfect, as there is no way we could be, but we certainly work hard and continue to get better and better each day…” Our National School of C
