August 9, 2012
Good afternoon and Happy
Friday,
I wanted to let you know that the LMS
Staff had a great opening meeting this morning.
There was energy, enthusiasm, laughter, serious contemplation, and yes –
dancing. We are middle level educators,
so by our very nature are a little weird.

Community Night (again)
We will begin this afternoon at 4 p.m. and
close up shop at 7 p.m. to allow our office staff to get home after a very long
day and week. We would appreciate your
assistance in this and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
This
evening is always well attended, so parking will probably be a challenge. We will have our back doors on either side of
the Gym unlocked and accessible from the back parking lot. This is a good problem for us, because it
reflects the interest and support of our parent community. Since this is a come-and-go type of evening,
we don’t usually offer a shuttle bus from Ladue Chapel as we do with other
evening events.
Please remember to bring a lock for your student’s
locker this afternoon/evening, particularly if you will be bringing
supplies. Also please remember that the
LMS Dads Club will be providing dinner and the LMS Parent Association will be
on hand to provide assistance, particularly to new families. LMS logo wear will be available for purchase,
either by cash or check.
Scheduling/Changes
I would like all student- and/or
parent-initiated schedule change requests to be communicated to our
Counselors by Friday, August 16. This
will help us greatly in finalizing our class rosters and determining any
last-minute needs (i.e. desks, lab tables, etc.). The Counselors, working with our
administrative team, will then review such requests to see if they can be
granted. Please understand that not all
requests can be met, particularly those that may involve “I want to be with my
friends” reasons. Although it would be
great to make this happen, I cannot in all sincerity unbalance and/or overload
class sections for these reasons.
